8月27日 The wall of listeningI am not good at writing so much.
Rather more, I am very poor at listening.
In Japanese, in general, there exists distinctions of words by intonation
such as "hashi" (meaning bridge in Japanese) and
"hashi" (meaning edge or terminal in Japanese).
But in my hometown, because of the reduction of pronounciation,
there is no distinctions of words by intonation
therefore we judge the words which have same sounds but different meaning
by the context of the talk.
That is why i am poor at listening and speaking the languages having intonations
such as thai and chinese.
Today when i was zapping on the web i found one thai blog written by Japanese.
I found interesting phrase .
ไม้ใหม่ไม่ไหม้ไหม?
ไม้(木) ใหม่(新しい) ไม่(~でない) ไหม้(燃える) ไหม?(~ですか?) 「新しい木は燃えませんか?」 I woud like to listen Thai people speak this phrase!
At now for me it will sound nothing but "My my my my my?"
